J. "Dee" Delores Torchia's Obituary
BARTLESVILLE, OKLAHOMA – J. “Dee” Delores (nee Pallett) Torchia, 88, formerly of Pittsburg, passed away peacefully July 24, 2016 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, comforted by family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 pm Friday, July 29, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS, with Father Sekhar Potnuru, as celebrant. Burial will be in the Pittsburg Garden of Memories. The parish rosary will be prayed at 6 pm Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg. The family will receive their friends after the rosary service.
Dee was born February 8, 1928 in Weir, KS the daughter of Fred and Mamie Johnson Pallett. Dee worked hard as a young woman, on the family farm and even working in the war effort as a uniform examiner with her beloved sister Belle. Dee married Joe Torchia on September 7, 1946 in Independence, KS and became a devoted homemaker in their home in Pittsburg. She raised her boys, Frank and Mike, to know the love of the Lord. She always welcomed friends and family into her home with the best pies and a warm heart. Later in life, Joe and Dee moved to Spring Hill, Kansas to live with Frank and Clara Torchia. Relatively recently, Dee moved to be closer to her remaining son, Mike Torchia and family in Bartlesville. She will always be remembered as a kind woman with a giving heart and an unaltered devotion to God.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe Torchia, her son, Frank Torchia, her granddaughter Michelle Torchia, her sisters Belle (Pallett) Christiansen and Lorraine (Pallett) Magers and her brother, Johnny Pallett. She is survived by her son Mike Torchia, (and his wife Debbie) of Bartlesville and her daughter in law Clara Torchia of Spring Hill, KS. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Danny Torchia, Christy Torchia, Joey Torchia and Jeff (Jill) Torchia and seven great-grandchildren, Garrett, Josh, Kyle, Logan, Nathan, Emma and Adam Torchia.
