T. Isabel Stephenson's Obituary
T. Isabel Stephenson 94, of Kansas City, MO formally of Pittsburg, KS
passed away Thursday May 5, 2016 at the Armour Oaks Nursing Home
in Kansas City, MO following an illness.
Isabel was born June 12, 1921 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Frank
and Gladys (Glaser) Klein. She was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg, KS
and a graduate of Pittsburg High School.
On April 24, 1940 Isabel married Joe Stephenson in Lamar, MO; he
preceded her in death on January 1, 1999. Isabel worked for the Jones
Store in the men’s department for 12 years. She was a member of the
First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, KS and volunteered at the
church, distributing the church news letters.
Survivors include her children Bobbie Vanice and Jim Stephenson both
of Kansas City, MO; sister Millie Grimaldi of Pittsburg, KS; grandchildren
Jonathan Vanice of Kansas City, MO and Clay Vanice and wife Laura of
Prairie Village, KS; great-grandchildren Ryan, Grace, Thomas, Elise and
Crista Vanice and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Isabel was preceded in death by her parents
and a brother Clair Klein.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Monday May 9, 2016 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive
Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 10:30-11:
00am prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers
donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Wesley
House and/or charity of donor’s choice. Friends may drop off or mail
memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS
