Homer F. Alexander's Obituary
Homer F. Alexander, 87 of rural Pittsburg, KS died April 12, 2016 at the
Via Christi Village in Pittsburg.
He was born November 18, 1928 in Arcadia, KS the son of William and
Amy (Coble) Alexander.
On September 2, 1950 he was united in marriage to Margaret Huff in
Bentonville, AR, she preceded him in death on June 10, 2004.
Homer was an Army veteran of the Korean War entering in March of
1951 and was honorably discharged in August 1956.
He was a longtime member of the Light House Tabernacle Church since
1978. He worked as a welder for Clemons Coal Co. for 20 years, retiring
in 1991.
Survivors include two daughters: Kathy Benskin and Karen Crowe both
of Pittsburg; a sister Maxine Bell of Tacoma, WA; three grandchildren:
Sheryl (Ty) Miller Ashlee (Jeremy) Proffitt, Marchelle Crowe, Jr.; four
great grandchildren: Kiera Miller, Baylee Proffit, Page Miller and Todd
Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services will be 2 pm, Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the
Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Pittsburg with Rev. Daryl Gaddy
officiating. Burial will be in the Frontenac City Cemetery. Family will
receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm Wednesday evening.
