Harry S. Ain's Obituary
Harry S. Ain 89, of Pittburg passed away Sunday. He was born on Fort Riley Military Base, Kansas to Margaret L. (Vest) Ain and Harry E. Ain on December 11, 1933. He attended Eberhart Elementary and Lindbloom High schools in Chicago Illinois, moving to Frontenac, Kansas in 1950 graduating from Frontenac High School, Class of 1952.
Harry joined the United State Air Force on October 5, 1953, assigned states side and overseas during his years of active duty, earning National Defense Ribbon, Air Force Commendation W-2 Cluster, Air Force Meritorious and Good Conduct metals, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant after 21 years of service,
He started a second career in Mechanical drafting after completing a degree from Pittsburg University Vocational School.
Working initially at Atkinson Industries, he took a short break to work at Don Fleury’s Surveying Business, returning to AZZ retiring in 2002.
Harry was united in marriage to Rita M. Zigmund on May 14, 1955 spending 68 years together of wedded bliss. Harry is survived by Rita and two sons, Michael K. Ain, Esq., North Carolina and Dr. R. J. Ain of Wichita, three granddaughters, Sydney and Gaby of Chicago, and Riley in Spain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Frontenac. A parish rosary will be recited at 2 pm prior to the service at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg.
