Gloria and I were good friends since I started working at Simmons in 1980. We almost always had our lunch hours together. Many a time she would put down her paperback book to chat with me, about the ills of the world and what was going on with our families. Her love and adoration of her children and grandchildren was evident in those same conversations.
And Ernie always came up, cause she had to figure out what she was cooking for dinner after work.
I can still hear her, questioning my health choices of eating microwave meals, while she had her fruit and healthy snacks.
When my ties with Simmons were cut unexpectedly, she asked to have lunch with myself to help me keep positive. Again, a good friend.
My thoughts and condolences are with all of the Hebenstreit family. Your Mother and Grandmother was a good and strong, Catholic lady. She'll give St. Peter a hard time at the gate, but we all know she will have no problem in getting in.
God Bless.
Respectfully,
