Such a wonderful Lady! I enjoyed every minute I got spend with her!

My condolences to the family.
Miss Hopkins was my third grade teacher, and I was delighted. I had looked forward to being in her class since I started school two years before. Then, during Christmas break that year, she broke her leg. I don't remember the details, but I will never forget how devastating it was that she did not return to teach that year. She was a truly lovely woman.
Miss Hopkins--a truly remarkable woman. She "took me in" in high school and was my supervisor when I "landed" a job with her in the High School Library on a special stipend paid to "economically underprivileged kids." SHE inspired me always with her incredible energy and work ethic, and shaped me to be a better teen and ultimately a better man. I am forever grateful to her. Ironically, she passed within 24 hours of my MOM's own death. They were teenage and adult friends. Sadly, I see Ms. Hopkins obituary today, but am so Blessed to have known her. Gerry was also my 3rd grade teacher in 1947 and I thought the world of her. I liked a lot of the other teachers throughout my schooling but Gerry was the only one I can say that I loved.
Miss Hopkins was my third grade teacher...my high school librarian ...and when I went back to nursing school in 1994..a teacher I had then...my entire life involved her as a teacher...she was beautiful, inside and out....
Gerry was a wonderful person and always had a smile on her face!! Sue Rogers Malone
