Georgeanna Lynn Fry's Obituary
Georgeanna Lynn Fry, 58, of Pittsburg, KS, died at 8:48 am on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Comfort Care Assisted Living Center in Pittsburg, KS. She had been in declining health for the last two years.
Georgeanna was born October 29, 1967, in Fullerton, CA, the daughter of Thomas L. and Phyllis M. (Fields) Fry. She lived in Pittsburg most of her life and attended Lakeside School. Georgeanna was active with Class LTD and performed various jobs with the organization.
Georgeanna was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She lived in the Kansas City area from 2011 to 2018, and she was a member of Matthew’s Ministry Sonflower Hand Bell Ringers in Leawood, KS. Georgeanna was a graduate of the Clear program at Johnson County Community College. She enjoyed participating in the annual Down Syndrome Prom and Up For Downs Fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City. She was a lifelong avid fan of PSU Football and loved tail-gating on Saturday before home games. Most of all, Georgeanna loved to dance.
Survivors include sisters Peggy Fleming and husband Bob of Pittsburg, KS, Anne Elrod of Pittsburg, KS, Mary Fry of Pittsburg, KS and Theresa VanBecelaere and husband Vince of Pittsburg, KS; brothers Tom Fry and wife Michele of Kawkawlin, MI, Jim Fry and wife Tracy of Wyandotte, OK and Bob Fry and wife Daphne of Olathe, KS; 26 nieces and nephews and their families.
Georgeanna was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Chuck Elrod, niece Melissa Fry, and a grand-niece Charlotte Gill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Simone as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 pm following the Rosary. Friends may visit the funeral home after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Class LTD, Pittsburg, KS, and/or Special Olympics Southeast Region, Pittsburg, KS.
