Gary R. Edwards' Obituary
Gary R. Edwards, 73, of Frontenac, KS died unexpectedly at 8:15am Tuesday September 23, 2025 at the Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO.
Gary was born April 18, 1952 in Pittsburg, KS to Joe Edwards and JoAnn Rasnic. He attended local schools. After high school he worked for McNally’s in Pittsburg, KS and traveled the country building water towers. Gary was known as an entrepreneur operating Edwards Construction, Unique Rentals and Edwards Consulting. On October 20, 1990 Gary married Lori Edwards (Keenan) at the Timmons Chapel on the campus of Pittsburg State University; she survives at the home.
Gary loved caring for animals and was known as a steward of nature. He often spent his free time enjoying the wildlife at his Sanctuary. He enjoyed working on cars, especially his Mach 1 Mustang, which bought brand new in 1969. He was a fixer of all things and was always the first person people would call when they needed help. He enjoyed collecting a variety of items and was always on the lookout for hidden treasures.
Gary lived life to it’s fullest. He was very active and always stayed busy. Whether it was family, work, friends, or one of his many hobbies, the thing that was consistent throughout all aspects of his life was how intensely he loved and how deeply he was loved in return.
