I haven't seen Ed since he was at the hospital visiting my brother Ernie Cole.He was such a good friend to him-Ernie talked of him as far back that I can remember. I recently moved to Jay to assist my daughter in the Lawson Funeral Homes that we sold in 88 and she repurchased them.I had been meaning to visit you in Pittsburg but it seems I waited too late. Dear Ruth and Family,
We are so sorry to lose Uncle Ed. Even though he wasn't our blood Uncle, he always included us and let us call him Uncle Ed. We loved hearing him cheer on Jill - right along with Michele and Liz at so many ball games! He was a wonderful supporter for Jill and has kept track of our girls and what they are doing. He and Ruth are genuinely interested - and he will surely be missed by all.
Also, as I started my insurance career - Uncle Ed was one of my "cheerleaders" - he would encourage me often, and I so appreciated it!
There are a few men in the world that God made exceptionally well - Uncle Ed is for sure one of them. And, I think, at the end of his life, God rewarded him in that he was strong and healthy and good humored right up until his stroke. My heart filled condolences to Ruth and your family. Edd was a great man and I what a pleasure it was to work with him. I always enjoyed his stories. He always had a life story to share.

We were saddened to hear of Edd's passing. I enjoyed the years that we worked together at KS Farm Bureau. Edd always had stories to tell and the biggest smile to share. He and our daughter, who was maybe 6 or 7 at the time, had an understanding about the candy dish on the corner of his desk...with a nod of his head, he let her have a piece of candy even tho mom objected! Edd was one of a kind...he will be greatly missed. Our prayers to Ruth and the family.
