Dorothy (Dottie) Helen Potter's Obituary
Dottie was born on January 27, 1938, in Portland, Maine, a daughter of the late Carl E. and Marion (Haskell) Priest, Sr. On August 9, 1958, she married Russell Glenn Potter, Sr. in Gilbertville, MA.
Dottie was a longtime homemaker and minister’s wife.
She spent her young adult life in West Brookfield, MA, before following her husband to the seminary in Wake Forest, NC. Much of her adult life was spent in the Raleigh area. Dottie and Russ spent their final years together in Fort Myers, FL. She later moved to Pittsburg in August, 2012.
She is survived by three children: Russell Potter, Jr. of Providence, RI, Doreen (Danny) Thomas, Raleigh, NC and Steven (Latisha) Potter, Mindenmines, MO, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Jackie Baldyga of West Warren, MA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Russ, on November 9, 2002, her parents, Carl and Marion, and five siblings, Beverly, Carl, Jr., Gloria, Ronald and Sandra.
No services are planned at this time. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
