Dorothy Marie Brancart's Obituary
Dorothy Marie Brancart 79, of Pittsburg, KS died 11:10pm Wednesday June 29, 2016 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Dorothy was born March 15, 1938 in Columbus, KS the daughter of Rufus and Goldie (Beighey) Price. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a Columbus High School graduate in 1956.
On September 22, 1956 Dorothy married Donald Dean Brancart in Kansas City, KS; he preceded her in death on October 19, 1993.
Dorothy worked as a beautician for many years in the Pittsburg community and later food service at Pittsburg High School.
Dorothy was of the Christian Faith; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; loved to crochet and was an avid Royals Baseball Fan.
Survivors include her children Ed Brancart (Jan) of Kansas City, KS and Tonja Brancart (Lou) of Pittsburg, KS; brothers Donald Price (Roberta) of Marlton, NJ and Marvin Price (Judy) of Gladstone, MO; numerous nieces and nephews and a special great niece Brandie Dennis (Jason) and family of Belton, MO.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Memorial Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday July 6, 2016 at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac, KS with Pastor Tom Wehrman officiating. Family will receive friends 12-1:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Learning Tree at Greenbush. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Friskel Funeral Home 230 E.
