One of my most special memories of Uncle Donald ( I believe he became known as Don, but he will always be my “Uncle Donald”!) is as a kid when I would visit Grandma and Grandpa Matter on the farm Uncle Donald would often come over. In the cold months Grandma and Grandpa would heat their house by a stove in the living room. I remember so many times standing in front of that stove, side by side with Uncle Donald, talking and laughing!
I am so glad I was able to go to his surprise bday party last August (I think that’s when they had it). I had a most memorable conversation with Uncle Donald sitting at the table with the two of talking for quite some time. It was a very heartfelt conversation. I will never forget hearing him tell me, “Never forget this conversation, Kristi, never forget it”! So very special!
I connect Uncle Donald and my dad together and it is with such a heavy heart that I now have to say goodbye to Uncle Donald. Love you and will miss you!
