Denny "Dennis" L. Grissom's Obituary
Denny “Dennis” L. Grissom (76) passed away surrounded by family at his home outside of Weir, KS on the morning of Thursday October 30, 2025.
Dennis was born on September 4, 1949 to Edward and Millie (Bledsoe) Moody in Hemet, CA. He was united in marriage to Kim Grissom (Lair) on November 25, 1983 in Pittsburg, KS.
Dennis was a veteran of the United States Army, and a longtime member of the American Legion. He was a man who loved his family, his grandkids, and a cold Busch Light with a lottery ticket. Dennis took a lot of people under his wing throughout his life, and will be remembered as a mentor and honorary father to many.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Grissom; his children, Tyler and wife Sandra Grissom, Carrie Grissom, Christopher and wife Shelby Grissom, and Michelle “Chelle” and husband C.J. Stanley; two sisters, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and numerous brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held for Dennis at 11:00am on Saturday November 15, 2025 at Crocker Cemetery south of Pittsburg, KS, with Pastor Alan Parker officiating. Friends and family are invited for visitation the night before from 7:00pm-8:00pm on Friday November 14, 2025 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, KS. Friends and family are also welcome to gather at the funeral home at 10:00am on Saturday morning for Dennis’s funeral procession, which will be escorted by the American Legion Riders of Cherokee Post #35. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory. Burial arrangements are made by the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home & Crematory of Weir, KS
