Deloris Mae Jackson's Obituary
Deloris Mae Jackson passed away peacefully in her sleep to reunite with her
loving family in heaven at the age of 94 during the early morning hours of
February 28, 2022, at Medicalodges – Frontenac, Frontenac, Kansas.
Ms. Jackson was born on December 27, 1927 to the late Elder Walter Dorsey and
Ruby Beatrice (Evans) Dorsey in Yale, Kansas. She grew up in Pittsburg, Kansas
where she spent all of her adult life. She was married to the late James Arthur
Jackson and from this union two children were born: a son, Delbert Lee Jackson
(deceased) and a daughter Denise Sharon Ann Brown (Florida).
She was employed at St. John’s Medical Center, Joplin, Missouri where she retired
after 27 years as a Unit Secretary.
She was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church for more than 60 years and was
the church treasurer. She was a member of the Sahara Chapter #28 Order of the
Eastern Star for over 50 years and was a member of the La Petite Club.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Denise S.A. Brown (Florida), a
granddaughter, Logan I. Brown (Florida), twin grandsons, Darric L. Jackson (Kansas
City, MO), Darron L. Jackson, (Overland Park, KS), a sister, Bettie L. Pillar
(Columbus, KS), great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other
relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James A. Jackson, son,
Delbert L. Jackson, grandson, David A. Brown, 8 siblings – Walter R. Dorsey,
Tenezebe Dorsey, JoAnn Dorsey, Walter L. Dorsey, Jr., Dorothy I. Grayson, Helen
B. Burley, Onether M. Grayson and Darrell M. Dorsey.
Memorial Services will be held at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home on Monday, March 14, 2022 at
10 a.m., 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
