Daniel H. Hix, 83, of Pittsburg, died Thursday, April 23rd at his home following a brief illness. He was born August 26th, 1937 to Myrl and Helen (Tabler) Hix, in Pittsburg. Following retirement, Dan and his wife of 57 years, Joan Read Obituary
My uncle had the funniest sense of humor. He would say and do things that would catch you so off guard and have you laughing so hard that you could hardly believe someone would say something so funny. I'm glad everyone in the family has his sense of humor.
Dan was a great man who worked hard and played hard. He was also a wonderful father and husband. Dan had a great sense of humor and enjoyed practical jokes. The Hix”s have been a second family to me since I met Bryan in high school 37 years ago. I feel very blessed to have them in my life. Dan will be forever loved and missed.
Dan believed in me when I wasn't sure I believed in myself. He provided opportunities for so many people to succeed. I was privileged to know Dan, Joan and their children on a personal as well professional level. Thank you for the wonderful memories and my heartfelt sympathy to all who knew and loved Dan. He will be missed!
Dan Hix was a good and faithful friend. I shall miss him greatly. He was a man of his word. A handshake from Dan was more binding than a stack of signed contracts from other men. My deepest sympathies to the family, Joan, and the children. I am truly grateful and honored to have been friends with this great soul.
