Daisy Matson's Obituary
Daisy Matson, 83 of Pittsburg died at 6:22 p.m. Sunday May 8,
2016 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Frontenac.
She was born July 2, 1932 in Girard, KS the daughter of E.F.
“Pete” and Betsy (Terrill) Matson. She was a lifetime resident of the
Pittsburg/Girard area.
Daisy worked for nearly 30 years for Pittsburg State University in
the janitorial department.
She was a lifetime member of the Free Holiness Church, where
she served as secretary and song leader. Daisy enjoyed making
French cookies, gardening, sewing and crocheting hot pads and
scrubbies.
Survivors include a daughter in law Patty Matson of Pittsburg; 2
grandchildren Jonathan Matson and wife Kerri, Jennifer Matson; 4 Great-
grandchildren Sammy, Monica, Kolby and Brody Matson. She was
preceded in death by her parents, a son Johnnie (John) L. Matson; 2
sisters Della Noe and Vera Ann Winn; half sisters-Mabel Redfern,
Mildred Coe, Gladys Stevens, Fern Roberts, Betty Russell, half brothers
Rubin and George Mapes.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday May 13, 2016 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Reverend Mike Shelton and
Reverend Clayton Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosebank
Cemetery in Mulberry. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
Thursday at the funeral home where friends may call after 10 a.m.
