Clinton Earl Champion's Obituary
Clinton Earl Champion 87, of Pittsburg, KS died 3:30pm Monday May 9,
2016 at his home following an illness.
Clinton was born May 26, 1928 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Glen Earl and
Mildred (Riley) Champion. Clinton was a Veteran of the United States
Army serving his country during the Korean War. Clinton was a pipe-
fitter for the Quaker Valley Construction Company and various other
chemical plants in other parts of the country. Clinton’s work had him
traveling all over the country. On August 15, 1952 Clinton married
Caroline Ann Richardson in Pittsburg, KS; she survives at the home.
Clinton was of the Christian Faith; loved gardening, working in the yard,
to travel in his camper, an avid NASCAR race car fan and was known to
enjoy his dune-buggy.
Survivors include his wife; sister Sandi Huges of San Francisco, CA;
nephew Rudy Cleveland and wife Veet of Parkville, MO and numerous
other nieces and nephews.
Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Jimmy Champion,
Shirley Joan and Stephen Champion.
Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Saturday May 14, 2016 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Chaplain David Wood
officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS.
Family will receive friends from 1-2:00pm prior to service at the funeral
home. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in
the form of memorials to Hospice Compasses. Friends may drop off or
mail memorials to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway
