My name is Craig Wilbur. My mom Golden Sharp Wilbur and Mel's mom Ruby were sisters. Claude and Dena Sharp were our common grandparents. Mel and I connected by pure chance a few years back, both searching for info on our grandparents. Bingo! We both filled our mutual "Black Holes" of family knowledge of which all are deceased now. For the knowledge he gave me, I am grateful.

Mel and I worked together at Ward/Kraft. I always appreciated his positive attitude in any situation. I found out we were both stationed at NASA Alameda at the same time in the 60's. He was also one of our earliest supporters of the Navy Memorial at FSNC, for which I was very appreciative. He will be missed very much. Daryl Roller
I’m Mr. D he was Mr. A and together we were DNA. What great memories of teaching and writing curriculum with Mel.
Mel had a big heart and a small ego. He cared deeply about his students. I enjoyed working with him at Lakeside Elementary many moons ago. Prayers extended for family and friends.

I am heart broken to heart about the passing of Mr. A. He was one of the best, most kind teachers. I know all of my classmates would remember, Mr. D & Mr. A.
He had such a huge impact on everyone. He remembered all of his students and kept up with us on Facebook. Wish everyone could have a Mr. A science teacher. He will be so missed 💔
