Charlotte Boyer's Obituary
FRONTENAC, KS – Charlotte Boyer, 92, of Frontenac, KS, passed away at 9:412am on November 14, 2025 following complications from kidney failure.
Charlotte was born April 23, 1933, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Mae (Ramsey) Smirl.
She was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked at Wal-Mart as a door greeter for 20 years. She enjoyed giving customers a hard time and they loved giving it back to her.
She loved going to bingo with her friend Barb on Tuesday and Friday nights.
On Sunday she and her nephew Mike would like to go to and play at the casino.
She liked collecting gifts at the casino and would sometimes give them to her children.
She also liked going junking with her sister June and nephew Jimmy.
She was an avid collector of John Wayne memorabilia.
She spent time doing jigsaw puzzles, reading and any word games.
Her favorite place to eat in town was the Mall Deli.
Survivors include her children Glenn and Marla Crabtree, Doug Crabtree, Janet and Tracy Butler, Karen Ellis, Allen and Kim Meeks, Arthur Meeks, and Dennis Swarthout one sister Irma and Jim Brown. She was loved by her grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, sister Bee Mitchell, Betty Short, and June Shipman, along with one brother Sonny Smirl.
The family will receive friends at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home on Broadway on Sunday the 16th from 5 pm to 7 pm. A graveside service will be on Monday the 17th at Highland Park Cemetery at 10 am in Pittsburg. A memorial has been established to the American Kidney Foundation in care of the funeral home.
