Charles Stout Jr.'s Obituary
Charles Stout, Jr., 84 of Pittsburg, KS died December 22, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, KS.
He was born January 17, 1932 in Marysville, KS the son of Charles Stout, Sr. and Ann (Kotnik) Stout. He graduated from Bellville High School, he then went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954. He was honorably discharged.
He attended Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg where he received a bachelor's of Science Education in 1954; he then went on to earn a master's degree in Science in 1963.
On August 12, 1961 he was united in marriage to Sandra Potocnik in Cherokee, KS, she survives of the home.
He was a member of the open door Fellowship Church in Pittsburg and a member of the American Legion of Cherokee.
He was a Principal and teacher at Cherokee and West Mineral schools for many years; he also worked at the Parsons Ammunition plant and was a past Mayor of Cherokee.
Survivors include Diana (Lewis) Brown of Pittsburg and Jane (Carl) Crumpacker of Cherokee, five grandchildren Amber (Bryan) Hale, Samantha Rakestraw, Shi, Kayla & Cody Crumpacker, three great-grandchildren Hallie, Braden and Jaxson Hale.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Pastor Don Talent officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Cherokee Cemetery. Memorials may be left to help family pay for healthcare expenses. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
