Charles Howard Keeler's Obituary
Charles Howard Keeler 77, of Pittsburg, KS died 6:00pm Wednesday July 30, 2025 at the Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO following an illness.
Charles was born January 19, 1948 in Winfield, KS the son of Donald Howard and Bertha Mae (DeWitt) Keeler. Charles grew up in Winfield, KS attending area schools. He later moved to Pittsburg and attended Pittsburg State University in pursuit of an automotive career. Charles was Veteran of the Army serving in the Vietnam War.
On September 8, 1972 Charles married Jeanne Marie Duensing in Pittsburg, KS; she preceded him in death on March 13, 2023. Charles worked for Heckert Construction as a Diesel Mechanic for 50 years. Charles was of the Christian Faith; he loved working on cars, classic cars, any form of racing, car club member and animal lover.
Survivors include her children Kristy Jameson and John Wiseman of Columbus, KS, Jennifer Maslen of Franklin, KS and Brian Keeler of Frontenac, KS; grandchildren Brett Jameson, Andrea Hollenbeck, Dustin Jameson, Melissa Wiseman, Ashley Keeler, Austin Spragg, Chelsea Keeler and Sidney Hambright; in addition 13 great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, parents and son-in-law Tommy Maslen.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am Tuesday August 5, 2025 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Richard Prideaux officiating. Burial will follow at the Cherokee Cemetery in Cherokee, KS with full military honors. Family will receive friends from 6-7:00pm on Monday August 4, 2025 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 2:00pm Monday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to Jennifer Maslen to help with final expenses. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg, KS.
