Cathy Clouston left this earthly world on July 17th, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, laughter, and a family who will miss her beyond words.
Born in Manhattan, Kansas February 17th, 1948, Cathy grew up in Chase, Kansas, a place that would always hold a special place in her heart. She later returned to Chase to raise her daughter and dedicated much of her career to serving the community she loved. She worked as the high school secretary and District Board Clerk for USD 401 and also served the Dexter and Cedar Vale school districts. She was often the first friendly face people saw, the calm in the chaos, and someone who quietly kept things moving behind the scenes.
Outside of work, Cathy had an unmistakable eye for beauty and history. She loved antiques – not just for what they were, but for the stories they carried. Over the years, she owned several antique stores, delighting in the hunt for hidden treasures and sharing that passion with others.
To know Cathy was to know a woman who lived life on her own terms. She was a force to be reckoned with and would not be hampered by inconvenience or circumstance. She played like a child and cussed like a sailor. She was fierce and stubborn, and anyone who tried to stop her from doing something she had set her mind to quickly learned it was a losing battle. Her determination wasn't just part of her personality – it was the foundation of the life she built.
For more than twenty-eight years, Cathy shared her life with her devoted partner, Noel Glenn. Through life's joys and its hardest seasons, they remained steadfast companions, building a life grounded in love, loyalty, and unwavering commitment.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Pickert (Kara Robinson) of Dallas, Texas; her beloved partner, Noel Glenn; her brothers, Chris Coffman (Evelyn) of Dripping Springs, Texas, Paul Coffman (Amy) of Peculiar, Missouri, and Steve Coffman (Kaye) of Cheney, Kansas. She also leaves behind Tyrell Glenn of Stanton, Nebraska and his children, Jayden and Levi; Travis Glenn of Stanton, Nebraska; Trevor Glenn of Meadow Grove, Nebraska, his wife Heidi, and their daughters, Paizlyn and Peyton, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
To her daughter, Cathy was the strongest and most resilient person she ever knew. She could push her buttons faster than anyone else, and yet she couldn't have been prouder to have been her daughter. Cathy taught her that strength isn't measured by an easy life, but by the determination to keep moving forward no matter what stands in your way. Her grit, humor, fierce love, and refusal to quit will continue to shape the lives of those who knew and loved her.
The world is quieter without her laughter, her colorful vocabulary, and her unshakable spirit. But those who loved Cathy know that a life isn't measured simply by years lived – it is measured by the strength we leave behind in others. By that measure, her legacy is immeasurable.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and impossible to forget.
