Catherine A. Gilmore's Obituary
Catherine A. Gilmore, 87, of Pittsburg, died October 9, 2016 at Comfortcare Homes of Pittsburg, Kansas.
She was born April 27, 1929 in Roseland, KS the daughter of James and Dora Theis Grant. She had been a resident of Pittsburg since 1957, moving from Roseland. She was graduated from West Mineral High School.
She married Thomas Richard Gilmore on February 23, 1957 in Scammon, KS. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2011.
Mrs. Gilmore worked at the Scammon Post Office, Katies Dairy Bee and most recently was a homemaker.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, the Mt. Carmel Auxiliary, and the Chicopee Foundation.
Survivors include five sons Gene Gilmore and wife Penny, Doug Gilmore, Richard Gilmore and wife Paula and Tommy Gilmore and wife Melissa all of Pittsburg and Dann Gilmore and wife Julene of Chanute, KS, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Tom, Jim, Maurice and Michael Grant.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Father Michael Baldwin, as celebrant. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Grant, Craig, Brock, Drake, Sean and Alex Gilmore. The parish rosary will be recited at 7 pm Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS. The family will receive their friends after the rosary at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Chicopee Foundation. Condolences may be left at our web site www.bathnaylor.com.
