Carolyn was one of the bravest people I have ever known. She lived with arthritis pain for as long as I can remember but I never heard her complain.
She was one of the group of us who hung out together. Carol Hawley, Barbara Douglas, Carolyn Buckley, Pat Thomas, Mary Carolyn Cooper and myself, Ellouise McVay.
We went through Lincoln Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, Pittsburg High School and some of us to Kansas State Teachers College (that is the correct name) at the south end of Pittsburg. I have many fond memories and photos of our growing up years together. Ellouise, aka, Ellie

It really saddened me to hear of Carolyn's death. She was a very special lady and a friend to everyone. I first met her in Junior High School and we graduated from High school in 1952. We didn't have much interaction for a few years but then we ended up engaged to cousins. We attended the same catechism class and then were married within a month of each other. So George and I really felt a close connection to her and Jim. Sending sympathy and prayers to Jim and the family. Leuvena
