Carl Ed Martin's Obituary
Carl Ed Martin 86, of West Mineral, KS died 1:19am Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at his home.
He was born September 2, 1936 in rural Scammon KS, the son of Joseph W. and Helen C. (O’Malley) Martin.
He graduated from, Weir High School then went on to Parsons Junior College then graduated from Pittsburg State University.
Carl was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Perello) April 30, 1960 at St. Bridget’s in Scammon; she survives him of the home
He was a devout member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.
Carl was a carpenter and lifetime farmer and rancher. He enjoyed going to cattle sale barns over the 4state area. He Loved his family and Sunday evening suppers.
Additional survivors include his children: Jim and wife Bev Martin of rural McCune; KS, Ken and wife Becky Martin of rural Cherokee, KS, Karla and husband Doug McGuire of rural Cherokee, KS and Mike Martin rural Scammon; KS Grandchildren: Ryan (Lindsey) Martin, Ashley (Cole) Murrin, Amy (Josh) Thompson, Julie Martin, Mandy (Terry) Heiser, Bridget (Elliott) Nold and Jacob McGuire; Great Grandchildren: Katie Martin, Colby Martin, Blayne Martin, Jack Nold, Rachel Nold, James Heiser; Step-Grandchildren: Eddie Sears, Jill (Buel) Pool and Ashley Davis; Step-Great-Grandchildren: Dakota Sears, Buel Pool and Wyatt Pool; additional survivors Sister Helen Marie Wallace and a sister-in-law Rose Marie (Jim) Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, a brother Joe Dave (and wife Mary Jean) Martin along with a brother-in-law Larry Wallace.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon with Fr. Jeremy Huser as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery. Parish rosary will be recited at 6pm Friday evening at the church; the family will receive friends following the rosary. Memorials may be made to the St. Bridget’s Building Fund, these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Weir, KS.
