Billy K. Dewey's Obituary
Billy K. Dewey, 85, of Pittsburg, KS passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Bill was born on January 14, 1941 to George Dewey and Mary Adaline (Stevens) Dewey in Pittsburg, KS. He was united in marriage to his wife Barbara (Cochran) in 1962, who survives of the home.
Bill worked as Plant Manager at a printing press in Girard, KS. As a long time resident and community member, Bill was involved in the “Rollin’ Nostalgia” car club. He loved classic cars, and collected and restored four 1936 Fords throughout his life. He loved working with his hands, and was very meticulous and detail oriented. Bill’s family remembers him as someone who always had a project. Whether building a curio cabinet to display Barbara’s figurines, or perfecting the finishing touch on one of his cars, he never struggled with keeping busy.
Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara Dewey; his daughter, Brenda Jagels and husband Doug Jagels; his son, Bryon Dewey and wife Kerry Dewey; his two brothers, John Dewey and wife Mary Ann Dewey, and Donald Dewey; and his three grandchildren, Sydney Jagels, Danny Dewey, and Kathryn Dewey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George Dewey and Adaline Dewey, and his sister Jackie Ristua.
Arrangements are made with the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg, KS for Bill to be cremated with no funeral services held, per his wishes. His ashes will be buried at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS at a later date.
