Betty Alice McCabe's Obituary
Betty Alice McCabe, 92 of Pittsburg, KS formerly of Cherokee, KS died at
7:25 pm, May 26, 2016 at Medicalodge South in Pittsburg.
She was born September 25, 1923 in Elsmore, KS the daughter o f Lowery L.
and Alice M. (Sears) Page.
On December 29, 1940 she was married to Delbert L. Cady, they later
divorced, she later married James McCabe on May 9, 1973 and he preceded her
in death on April 8, 1976.
Betty was a lifetime area resident and a longtime member of the Cherokee
American Legion Aux.
She worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant for several years. She also
owned and operated Betty’s Café in Bronson, KS.
Survivors include a son John L. Cady of Idaho; two daughters: Judy Johnson
of Joplin, MO and Marie “Sandy” Vena of Asbury, MO; five grandchildren:
Michael Becker, Janet (Steve) Meyer-Faucett, Joe (Jessica) Vena, Jeannie
(Guy) Mitchell, Jeanette (Joey) Meyer-Wilson; 10 great-grandchildren:
Charlee Meyer, Dylan & Blake Faucett, Kyler and Aubrey Vena, Justin and
Gabrielle Marquis, Jacob and Megan Wilson and Logan Bonner and one
great-great grandchild Loreina Marquis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and two sons: Ted
and Jerry Cady and 14 siblings.
Private family services will be at a later date. Inurnment will be in the
