During my college years, I had the privilege to work near Barbara, which provided many opportunities to visit and share stories. No matter how rough of a day you or your team maybe having, her voice, smile, and comments always left you feeling better. I never saw her after I left and moved onto better things, but through the years I often thought about her. She left a positive memory in my life. Thank you, Barbara, for the great times you shared with me.

Barbara and her family were wonderful to me during our teen years at St. Mary’s and beyond. She was in our wedding party when Donald and I married 64 years ago. She lived her faith and was a guiding light and true friend as I was adjusting to being a confused teen in A new school. Blessings to Ken and the Family. What a beautiful photo you selected of Aunt Barbara…this is exactly how I will always remember her. Growing up I always felt like she and I were so alike in many ways and I always turned to her when I needed a clever idea, a fun craft, or a number of other things. I was truly in awe of her constant, unwavering faith—even as she faced so many trials throughout her life. I would say that my grandparents must have laid an amazing foundation because so many of their children have/had faith that was something to be admired. I am so very thankful to have had her in my life and I will miss her so, so much. It’s finally time for you to be in heaven with Shaun and so many of your loved ones, Aunt Barb. I love you. Susie
Barbara and I became fast friends in Latin II class at St. Mary's Colgan many years ago. Our friendship blossomed and we talked nearly every day since until her terrible illness took hold of her. We lived through all of our pregnancies together, wore each others maternity clothes and celebrated the birth of our children. We had fond memories of the watermelon garden her dad ran each summer. Many hours we spent selling watermelon slices and visiting with each other about everything. When I learned how to make Harvey Wallbangers. Barbara called them Herbie Wallbumpers. I can't remember if that was before or after she took a sip. I will always miss her. She was an amazing woman, friend, wife and mother. There isn't a day goes by that she isn't in my thoughts. I had the opportunity to meet this lovely lady a few times and she was very kind and warm. I remember when Kebra gave me her phone number when my son Anthony went to Pitt state and he was away from home for the first time.
