Arthur D. Vance's Obituary
Arthur D. Vance 57, of Farlington, KS died 7:09am Saturday June 8, 2024 at his home following a long illness.
Arthur was born November 20, 1966 in Chanute, KS the son of Bennie and Mary A. (Haviland) Vance. Arthur has lived in this area most all his life attending area schools in St. Paul and Cherryvale, KS. On August 18, 1995 Arthur married Shauna R. Redd in Miami, OK; she survives at the home.
Arthur worked at Premdor (Castlegate) in Pittsburg, KS and was later a Train Engineer for Kansas City Southern Railroad. Arthur was a member of Life Track Church and Pitt Naz in Pittsburg, KS. Arthur in his free time enjoyed fishing, movies, Kansas City Chiefs, Jeep rides and was known as a loving grandfather.
Survivors include his wife; children Shawna Lindsey of Frontenac, KS, Jessica Vance of Erie, KS and Colton Vance of Olathe, KS; mother Mary Brooks; step-father Gary Brooks; grandchildren Mason, Trevor, Kayliegh, Katana, Ashton and Aidyn and numerous extended family and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his father Bennie Vance and brother Scott Howell.
Memorial Cremation Services will be 10:00am Saturday June 15, 2024 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Kevin Sheddrick officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to Shauna Vance to help with final expenses.
