Arlinda J Herrera's Obituary
Arlinda J. Herrera 82, of Frontenac, KS died 8:40am Thursday October 24, 2024 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Frontenac, KS following an illness.
Arlinda was born April 22, 1942 in Los Angeles, California the daughter of Louis Luna and Ruth Licon (Murphy) Herrera. Arlinda married Marion Dwight Varns; they later divorced. She later married Robert Hyles; they later divorced. Later she married Leonard Crowe; they later divorced.
Arlinda worked for U.S. Awards and made patches for letterman jackets; later Shade Makers in California manufacturing awnings from 1981-1992 and later Sunset Manor in Frontenac, KS for 10 years. Arlinda was of the Catholic Faith; she loved work, family, yard sales, puzzles, music, dancing and gardening.
Survivors include her children Mark Crowe and wife Christie of Frontenac, KS, Zetta Varns and husband Mark Row of Pittsburg, KS, Ruth Hyles of Hemet, CA and David Hyles and wife Pam of King George, VA; sisters Jeri Davis and Louana Eksteine; grandchildren Rachell, Rebecca, Terry Lynn, Vanessa, Adrienne, Derek, Marc and Janie; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Arlinda was preceded in death by her daughter Terry Varns and sons Robert Hyles and James Hyles.
Private ceremonies will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the SEK Humane Society.
