Anna Marie Krusic's Obituary
FRONTENAC, KS – Anna Marie Krusic, 97, of Frontenac, died November 6, 2020 at Oakview Estates in Frontenac.
She was born October 19, 1923 in Frontenac the daughter of John Joseph and Mary Ann Blunick Fuertsch. She had been a resident of Frontenac her entire life. She attended Frontenac High School and graduated with the class of 1945.
She married Norman Ambrose Krusic on September 18, 1947 in Frontenac, he preceded her in death on March 6, 2008.
Mrs. Krusic was a homemaker, sold Avon, and was a telephone operator pioneer with Southwestern Bell in Frontenac from 1944 to 1949.
She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac, a member of the retired teachers organization, the Frontenac American Legion Auxiliary, a founding member of the Frontenac Education Foundation, a founding member of the Frontenac Homecoming Committee, a charter member of the and organizer of the Fiesta Italiana in Frontenac, she wrote three cookbooks for the Fiesta Italiana celebration, designed the Frontenac plate, loved to travel and take cruises, loved to dance and was the youngest daughter of the founder of Frontenac.
Survivors include one daughter Victoria Ann Turner and her husband Steve of Overland Park, KS, two grandchildren Douglas Turner and his wife Jennifer of Overland Park, KS, Kristine Ligtenberg and her husband Edward of Olathe, KS, three great-grandchildren Elizabeth Ligtenberg of Manhattan, KS, Seth Ligtenberg of Olathe, and Ella Rose Turner of Overland Park, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Isidore Fuertsch, Regina Morella, Joseph Fuertsch, Francis Fuertsch, Raymond Fuertsch, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Private Mass of Christian Burial for family members only will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac with Father P. J. Voegeli, as celebrant. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The parish rosary will be prayed prior to the mass. Pallbearers will be Doug Turner, Seth Ligtenberg, Elizabeth Ligtenberg, Kristine Turner-Ligtenberg and Ella Turner. A memorial has been established to the Frontenac Education Foundation in care of the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac. The mass will be life streamed on our web site at Mrs. Krusic obituary page.
