Anita Lucille Michael's Obituary
Anita Lucille Michael, 58, of Girard, lost her battle with a long medical condition on November 15, 2024.
Anita was born on March 23, 1966, in Girard, Kansas, to Gene and Alice Edwards. She had eight brothers and sisters: Melvin Kolar, Ruth (Bob) Anderson, Tom (Joyce) Kolar, Raymond Edwards, Ruby (Bob) Riley, Harvey (Sandy) Edwards, Jim (Tearl) Edwards, and Alvin (Connie) Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Melvin, Tom, Harvey, and Raymond, and her sister Ruby.
Anita grew up and attended schools in Girard and Missouri. She later pursued a career in the medical field, becoming a CNA and working at the Heritage Nursing Home in Girard for many years.
While working at the nursing home, Anita met the love of her life, Ronnie Michael, and they married on May 28, 2003. Ronnie survives of the home.
Anita devoted herself to caregiving, particularly for her mother, Alice, when she became ill. She spent the rest of her mother’s life dedicated to her care until her passing.
Anita leaves behind a large family and many cherished friends. She especially enjoyed visits and conversations with her niece, Amanda Oney, and her great-niece, Hemi Oney, who always tried to lift her spirits on difficult days.
The family will hold a celebration of life at the Living Faith Church in Girard, Kansas, on December 13, 2024, at 1 p.m.
Memorial donations to assist with final expenses can be made out to the Michael Family. These can be mailed or dropped off at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg or at the church during the celebration of life.
