Alex J. Cresson's Obituary
Alex J. Cresson, 95 of Roseland, KS died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the
Medicalodge of Pittsburg.
He was born August 18, 1920 in Roseland, KS the son of Joseph and
Blanche (Vanderbeck) Cresson.
On February 6, 1943 he was united in marriage to Hazel Parrish in
Roseland; she preceded him in death on November 24, 2015.
Alex worked for USD 247 as a bus driver and maintenance worker, after
his retirement he also worked for Mid-America Pipe.
He attended the Community of Christ Church in Scammon. He was also
the city treasurer for Roseland, a Democratic Committee Board Member,
Board Member for the Roseland and Carona Schools and enjoyed
watching his grandchildren participate in sports.
Survivors include a daughter Joyce (Terry) Jones of Scammon, KS; two
grandsons: Jeff (Belinda) Jones of Scammon and Todd Douglas Jones
(Terri) of Scammon; five great grandchildren: Crestley Jones, Kylie
Jones, Kelsey Jones, Elisha (Nolan) Jones-Peters with a great-great
granddaughter Addison Faith on the way in June, Kayla Jones and
Dalton Jones; a brother-in-law Jim (Yvonne) Parrish of Bentonville, AR
and a sister-in-law Florence Gustin of Weir; along with several nieces
and nephews and a Care giver Debbie Benedict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Hazel, and a brother,
Arthur Cresson.
Memorial services will be 7pm, Tuesday May 3, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Weir, KS with Larry Reynolds officiating. Family will
receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7 pm before the services.
Private family inurnment will be at the Hosey Hill Cemetery at a later
date. Memorials may be made to the Jaelee Munson Support Fund
(Jaelee has cancer and is six years old); these may be left at or mailed
