Adam Marquez Basauri II's Obituary
Adam Marquez Basauri II was born November 28, 2007, in Pittsburg, KS. His life was tragically taken too soon from many he loved and many who loved him. He was a kind and beautiful soul who could light up any room he walked into. His laugh was contagious, and he knew how to make others smile.
Adam had many dreams and goals he hoped to achieve. He loved sports and was a senior at Girard High School in Girard, Kansas, where he should have graduated in May and then attended college in the fall. He was a member of the Girard Trojans football team. Adam was someone people wanted to be around; he was always respectful and loved his family deeply. He touched many lives in the community and will be deeply missed.
Adam is survived by his mother and stepfather, Amy and Patrick Basauri; his father, Thomas Morales; his sisters, Angelica Morales, Angelique Morales, Antonia Umphenour and her husband Ronald, Angela Morales, and Angelina Aguirre; his brother, Anthony Basauri; and his stepsiblings. He is also survived by his uncle, Robert Basauri; his godmother, Melissa Cruz; and his godfather, Jacob Aguirre; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly. He also leaves behind his one and only forever love, Lilly Winter, and his best friend, Andrew Smith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and two uncles, Adam Basauri and Brian Babcock.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at PittNaz Church in Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be sent to the family to assist with final expenses or to support gun violence prevention.
