OSAWATOMIE, KS – William Harvey Failes, 81, of Osawatomie, died March 27, 2017 at Vantage Park of Osawatomie. He was born November 21, 1935 in Kansas City, MO the son of Harvey and Hazel Rector Failes. He lived for most of his life in Mena, Arkansas and had also lived in Ottawa, KS and Osawatomie, KS. He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force. Mr. Failes was a college graduate with a degree in Electronic Engineering. He married Marilyn Cable and she preceded him in death on January 1, 1988. Mr. Failes worked as an Electronic Engineer in the Radio Industry, prior to his retirement. Survivors include three sons William Mac-Phail of Somerville, NJ, Timothy Failes of Gladstone, MO and Gordon N. Failes of Olathe, KS, one daughter Cheryl Correa of Olathe, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother and one sister. Graveside services will be 11 am Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Beulah Cemetery in Crawford County, Kansas under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS.
