Michael Eugene Cooper

Michael Eugene Cooper of Pittsburg, KS died Friday January 14, 2022 at the Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. He was born November 10, 1968 in Kansas City, KS the son of Dr. Kent and Leona (Bogner) Cooper. He was a graduate of Colgan High School and Pittsburg State University, and did several tours of duty in the Army National Guard of Kansas and the Reserve of the Army. Michael ran his own business as a carpenter remodeling several homes in the Pittsburg area; he also was an ice vendor servicing several locations in and around Pittsburg. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS and the Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post #64. Survivors include two daughters: Sabrae Paige Cooper of Pittsburg, Annamarie Cooper of Tulsa, OK; a son Kent R. Cooper of Pittsburg; parents: Dr. Kent J. and Leona Cooper of Pittsburg; brother: Jay M. Cooper, MD of San Luis Obispo, CA; three sisters: Kristin D. Cooper Lyle, MD of Superior, CO, Megan Faith Kerr and Nancy Serena Cooper both of Pittsburg, along with three grandchildren: Leland Eugene, Cassidy and Damian Gideon. Mass of Christian burial will be 10am Monday January 17, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Parish rosary will be recited at 7pm Sunday evening at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home.
