Lelia Imogene McCormick

August 2, 1929 - April 24, 2017

SCAMMON, KS – Lelia Imogene McCormick, 87, of Scammon, died April 24, 2017 at her home of an illness. She was born August 2, 1929 in Columbus the daughter of Harlen and Wavy Kirby McKee and had been an area resident for most of her life. She married Billy Lee McCormick on March 23, 1946 in Columbus and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1993. Mrs. McCormick had been a homemaker for most of her life. Membership was held in the Scammon Holiness Mission. She loved to sew and spending time with her family. Survivors include five sons Branson (Bonnie) McCormick of Ashland, Oregon, Ronald (Sheryl) McCormick of Oswego, Terry McCormick of Scammon, Gary (Laura) McCormick of Scammon and Floyd (Lesa) McCormick of Scammon, three daughters Judy Corsair of Scammon, Jane Young of Scammon and Leliane McCormick of Scammon, one sister Sharon (Santi) Biancarelli of Frontenac, 22 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, and her caretaker Debbie Benedict of Roseland, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers Clarence, George and Billy McKee, one sister Shirley Murray, five grandchildren Christopher Wayne McCormick, Julius McCormick Hetrick, Landon Christopher Key, Paul Teemu Allen and Tara McCormick. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 611 S. East Avenue in Columbus, KS 66725, with the Rev. Dwayne Elmore, officiating. The organist will be Angie Elmore. Pallbearers will be Levi Hamilton, Aaron Young, Michael McCormick, Andrew McCormick, Jason McCormick and Duncan Corsair. Honorary pallbearer will be Wes McCormick. Burial will be in the Edgmand Cemetery in Cherokee County. The family will receive their friends from 7 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Hospice Compassus or the Scammon Holiness Mission in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left at our web site www.bathnaylor.com.
