Kanah Leah Armstrong Martin 34, of Pittsburg, KS died 3:25pm June 10, 2017 at the Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida following a long illness. Kanah was born August 16, 1982 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Steven and Susie (Strickland) Armstrong. Kanah has lived in the Pittsburg area most of her life graduating from Frontenac High School in 2001. On July 15, 2006 Kanah married Michael “Tony” Martin in Pittsburg, KS; he survives at the home. Kanah worked as the City Clerk for the City of McCune, KS and the United States Postal Service in McCune, KS. Kanah was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Pittsburg, KS. She was known for being a sports mom, an avid trap shooter, having a great love for fishing, being earthy and looking for morels and wild asparagus. Kanah who was extremely generous, loved being creative and would scrapbook and edited photos for many friends and family without taking a dime. Most of all, Kanah loved her children dearly and spent many sick days and nights doing as much as possible with them so they could have many good memories of family. Survivors include her husband, parents, children Kailynn Renee Martin and Kymbree Jane Martin of McCune, KS; siblings Mandy Karstetter and husband Ricky of McCune, KS, David Ferguson and wife Tasha of Girard, KS and Brandy Merritt and husband Neal of Greenville, SC; paternal grandparents Ben and Carrie Smith of Broken Arrow, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. Kanah was preceded in death by her sister Kimberly Spurling and maternal grandparents James and Maxine Strickland. Funeral Services will be 10:00am Saturday June 24, 2017 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Cobey Clarkson officiating. Burial will follow at the Frontenac City Cemetery in Frontenac, KS. Family will receive friends from 7-8:00pm Friday June 23, 2017 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 1:00pm Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Kailynn and Kymbree Martin Education Fund.
