Goldie Lorranie Miller, 92, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home in Pittsburg, KS. She was born on April 16, 1929 in Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Johnie Martin and Cecil (Trout) Peak. Lorranie graduated from St. Mary’s high school. On September 24, 1947, she married her husband Melvin Charles Miller, he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker most of her life but helped her husband with Miller’s Garage and Station. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; lifetime member of the Chicopee Church and Community building and held a 25 year membership with CASU. She was also a member of SCCA in Springfield, MO and was part of the pit crew for her son in law David. Lorranie was loved by many. She will be remembered for serving the best breakfast around the campground. The grandkids loved her fried eggs. Halloween was always a special time because “Grams” would make popcorn balls and serve dinner that night for all the grandkids. Survivors include a two sons; Johnie Miller and wife Linda of Pittsburg, KS, Jimmie Miller and wife Pat of Frontenac, KS, two daughters; Evelyn Pistole of Pittsburg, Kansas, Charlene Fanska and husband Jerry of Spring Hill, KS, daughter/friend; Carolyn Vediz of Pittsburg, KS, ten grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Lorranie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son in-law, David Pistole, grandson, J.D. Baird, sister Mary Evelyn Gardner, brother Ernest Martin Peak. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Jerome Spexarth as celebrant. Interment will follow at Crocker Cemetery, Pittsburg, KS. The parish rosary will be at 6:30 pm Friday, September 3, 2021 at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS, where the family will receive friends following the rosary. Memorials may be made to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, the family respectfully request attendees wear facial masks.
