Danny Joe Grant Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Danny Joe Grant, 82, of rural Columbus, KS, died Friday, August 11, 2017 at his home in Columbus, Kansas. He was born September 27, 1934 in Columbus the son of Joseph J. and Mildred L. (Scowden) Grant. He attended area schools and graduated from the Columbus High School. Danny worked as a Farmer all of his life. He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus and also attended St. Bridget’s Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus and was on the Farmer’s COOP board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and cheering on the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. His favorite thing to do was to sit on his porch and visit. Survivors include, a sister Louise Ferraro of Columbus, KS; a nephew Jim Ferraro and wife Lori of Baxter Springs, KS; a niece Kathy Ferraro and her family Gary and LuAnne Pugh of Pittsburg; along with a great niece Annisa Catron and husband Thomas of Coffeeville, KS, great-nephew Ben Ferraro and fiancée Bernadette Tate of Overland Park, KS, and dear friend Joe Mooney and wife Kelly and the rest of their family. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Doris Grant. Mass of Christian burial will be 2 pm, Monday, August 14, 2017 at the St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Scammon with Fr. Jeremy Huser as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery. Parish rosary will be recited at 1 pm Monday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir.
