Carl L. Handshy, Jr. 94, of Columbus, KS died Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS. He was born July 18, 1927 in Hallowell, KS the son of Carl L. Handshy, Sr. and Pearl Olive (Parsons) Handshy. He married Wilma Jean Huston at the Church of Christ in Pittsburg, KS on December 31, 1949, she preceded him in death November 27, 2020. Carl was a farmer and also worked at Farmers COOP, Dickey Clay and Cherokee County Hwy Dept. Survivors include a son; Luther (Margo) Handshy of San Diego, CA, five daughters: Carla (Allen) Story of Blue Springs, MO, Coral Haggard of Neosho, MO, Cara (Allen) Moore of Columbus, KS, Colette (David) Humble of Columbus, KS, Cherie (Fritz) Halda of Spring Hill, KS, two brothers: Albert Ray Handshy of Parsons, KS and Jesse Handshy of Columbus; three sisters: Mary Parker of Pinehurst, TX, Carolyn Crain and Alice Delmont both of Columbus; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandchild. A visitation will be held from 1-3 pm Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
