Anton "A. J." Joseph Baima

February 6, 1957 - May 10, 2017

Anton Joseph (A.J.) Baima 60, of Holdenville, OK, passed away unexpectedly at 4:43pm Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. A.J. , son of Anton and Judy (Zortz) Baima, was born February 6, 1957, in Pittsburg, KS. A.J. attended Frontenac High School in Frontenac, KS and later joined the Air Force, where he served for 4 years and was honorably discharged. After his service A.J. attended Hutchinson Community College for 2 years, working toward a degree in Journalism. A huge Beatles and St. Louis Cardinals fans, , A.J. amazed his family and friends with his extensive knowledge of music and sports details long forgotten by most. A devout Catholic, A.J. attended Mass faithfully until his health concerns prohibited his attendance Survivors include sisters Susan Lane and husband Dennis of Celina, TX and Nancy Pettus and husband John Hergenrother of Tulsa, OK; nieces and nephews Branin Lane, Aaron Lane, Jordan Lane, Suzanne Hribar, Blake Pettus, Adam Pettus, Julia Williams, Trent Pettus, Eric Hergenrother, and 16 great-nieces and nephews. Anton was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Monday July 3, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac, KS with Fr. Thomas Stroot officiating. Burial will be private at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Frontenac, KS. Family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00am prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to Boyce Manor Nursing Home. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Friskel Funeral Home 230 E. McKay Frontenac, KS 66763. E-mail condolences may be left at www.friskelfuneralhome.com. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Friskel Funeral Home of Frontenac, KS.
