My heart felt condolences go out to Max's family and loved ones. I had the privilege of being one of the first girls in his industrial arts class at Roosevelt junior high school in 1973. He treated us just like the boys, except we had to tie up our hair. Love you always. Tinna Bendt.
I was very privileged to have done my student teaching in the Industrial Arts field under the guidance of Max. And then to fill in for him for the following two years as Max and two other fine teachers each took a two year sabbatical leave from teaching to develop what is now PITSCO,,,In reality Max is still teaching and sculpting young minds through what he helped develop years ago. I'll never forget Max and his calm demeanor and his true desire to transfer his knowledge in a practical way to "HIS STUDENTS". Max and Helen were a true 'TEACHING TEAM FOR LIFE' ...TOUCHING AND CHANGING THE LIVES OF THEIR STUDENTS IN A VERY POSITIVE WAY.

Mr. Lundquest was my industrial arts teacher at Roosevelt Jr. High in 1967-1968. I still remember and use techniques that he taught us in working with wood. He ran a very disciplined classroom which was a necessity, given the potentially dangerous machines we used. My life was definitely blessed by having had him as my teacher and I offer my deepest condolences to his family.
I was privileged to know Max through his involvement with Wesley House. He was a true gentleman and an inspiration to me as he lovingly cared for the Wesley House family. My life is richer because I was blessed to know Max.
