Marjorie A. Wiand 83, of Oswego , KS died 5:30am Wednesday March
17, 2010 at Oswego Community Hospital following a long illness.
Marjorie was born March 1, 19 27 in New Castle , Indiana to Byron and
Ora (Morgan) Miller. She earned her B.S. in Nursing at Pitt State
University and worked as a nurse for 26 years.
On September 2, 19 45 she married Paul M. Wiand in New Castle ,
Indiana ; he survives at the home. Marjorie was a member of the
Methodist Church in Baxter Springs , KS ; a member of the Order of the
Eastern Star, Girl Scout Leader, was an excellent cook, and loved all
crafts. Marjorie was an expert seamstress and could complete with
perfection and craft project she attempted. Her recipes were sought
after for their great taste. She constructed the best halloween costumes;
winners every time for her daughters. Along with all of this she was a
loving mother, grandmother, a faithful wife and dedicated family member.
She was happily married for 64 years and will be missed by all who knew
her.
Survivors include her husband, children Nancy Leach and husband Allen
of Olathe, KS, Cathy Jeffrey of New Port , AR ; grandchildren Alison
Leach, Megan Sloan and husband Kevin and Abby Rizor and husband
Chad ; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous siblings.
Memorial Services will be 10am Monday March 22, 2010 at the Methodist
Church in Oswego , KS with Rev. Bob Conway officiating. In lieu of
flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of
memorials to the Methodist Church in Oswego , KS . Friends may drop
off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 611 S. East Ave.
