Obituaries
Angeline “Angie” Strathe of Frontenac, KS, died on Wednesday, July 28,
2010 of a massive heart attack.  

She was born in Carona, KS to Louis and Josephine (Crespino)
Caputo.  She attended West Mineral Elementary School and graduated
from West Mineral High School.  Following Graduation, she married Fred
(Wayne) Strathe of McCune, KS and they shared their life together for
over 50 years in Parsons, KS.  He preceded her in death in January
2001.  They owned and operated Fred’s Standard Service for many
years until taking early retirement.  

Angie had a strong passion for fashion and went to work for Stephen’s
Women’s Wear in Parsons, KS.  She managed the high-end boutique
for 38 years and enjoyed traveling to various runway fashion shows to
bring the latest in designer apparel to Parsons and the Southeast
Kansas Region.  Angie was very good to many brides over the years,
helping them choose the perfect wedding dress and styling them for
their special day.  Angie’s enthusiasm and demonstration of great style
and taste enabled her to capture the loyalty of all her customers.   
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg.

She is survived by two sisters Millie Connely (Lloyd-deceased) of St.
Louis, MO, Shirley Corn (Bud-deceased), Pittsburg, KS, one brother,
Louis Caputo (Judith) of Frontenac, KS, a sister-in-law, Charlotte
Strathe of California and numerous nieces/nephews and grand
nieces/nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Our
Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (916 N. Locust Street) in Pittsburg, KS
with Father Larry Parker and Father Tom Stroot as concelebrants.  
Burial will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parsons, KS.  Rosary will
be recited at 7pm Friday, July 30, 2010, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral
Home in Pittsburg; the family will receive friends immediately following
until 8:00pm. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1pm Friday.  
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund; these
may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.  Services are under the
direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg,
KS 66762.
