Obituaries
M. Jo Strahan, 87 of Girard, KS passed away Sunday, December
18 at Girard Medical Center. She was born September 18, 1924 in
Pittsburg, the daughter of Robert and Josephine (Weist) Mielke.
On November 9, 1944 she was united in marriage to Lyle Strahan
at the Ottawa Christian Church in Ottawa, Kansas. They moved from
Pittsburg in 1965 to Oklahoma City, OK In 1972 they moved back to
Pittsburg. He preceded her in death in March of 2010.
Jo was a homemaker. She was a member of the Britton Christian
Church in Oklahoma City. She was an avid Oklahoma sports fan.
She is survived by her two son; Garry Strahan and wife Sandy of
Girard and Dan Strahan and wife Debbie of Brownsburg, IN.; 5
grandsons, Garry Michael Strahan of Olathe, Kenny Strahan of
Lawrence, Bobby Strahan of Hagerstown, MD, Cory Strahan of
Corydon, IN and Jeff Strahan of Pittsburg; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Strahan;, Four
brothers, Robert, Alvin, Herbert and Edgar Mielke.
Graveside Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 22,
2011 at Garden of Memories Cemetery with Pastor Jim Sukraw
officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from noon until service
time Thursday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. The family
suggests Memorials to Angels Among Us. Memorials may be dropped
off or mailed to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 South Broadway,
