Obituaries
Manford Jesse Stone 91, of Columbus, KS died 1pm Wednesday
January 4, 2012 at his home following an illness.
Manford was born January 26, 1920 in Ozark , MO the son of David
and Mae Forgey Stone. Manford lived in Columbus most all his life.
On March 13, 1963 he married Bonnie Tillman in Columbus , KS ; she
survives at the home. Manford worked for the Cherokee County
Highway Department for 30 years as well as a farmer all his life.
Survivors include his wife; sons Steve Stone and wife Kim of Oswego,
KS, Scott Stone of Columbus, KS and Jack Gearhart of Columbus, KS;
grandson Travis Gearhart and wife Michelle and a granddaughter
Autumn Stone; sisters Judy Gleason of Columbus, KS and Billie June
Robinson of Parsons, KS and his loving dog Sam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Betty Nell and
Marianne Larson; brothers David (Dude) Stone, Jack Stone, Lemmie
Stone, Ellis Stone and Ray Stone.
Funeral Services will be 10am Monday January 9, 2012 at the
Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus , KS with Rev. Dennis Johnson
and Chaplain Jeff D. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Columbus
City Cemetery in Columbus , KS . Family will receive friends from
6-7pm Sunday January 8, 2012 at the funeral home; friends may call
after 1pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of
sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Sherwin Christian Church.
