Sara Jellene (Phillips) Smith 32, of Pittsburg , KS went to be with her Lord
and Savior at 7:15am Monday August 29, 2011 from her home following
an illness.
Sara was born October 26, 1978 in Wichita , KS the daughter of Ricky L.
Jones and Rebecca L. Phillips.
Sara earned her Associate’s Degree at the Wrights Business School in
Tulsa , Oklahoma . On July 23, 1999 Sara married Jeremie Smith in
Eureka Springs , AR ; they later divorced. Sara worked as a receptionist
for Dr. Russell Family Clinic in Sapulpa , OK for 6 years before moving to
the area. She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army Church and
a member of the Muskogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma. Her greatest joy
was her children. She also enjoyed reading, music and Native American
Pow Wows.
Survivors include her parents; children Javin Winter Smith of Tulsa, OK,
Jaleana Wisper Smith of Tulsa, OK and LaiLeana Elise Hall of Pittsburg,
KS; siblings Rachel Jones of Tulsa, OK, Joshua Jones of Tulsa,
Christopher Jones of Tulsa, and Mateo Lorenzo of Pittsburg, KS;
grandmother Ruby Jones of Tulsa, OK; stepfather Joe Deer of Pittsburg,
KS and a grandfather Franklin Phillips of Eufaula, OK.
She was preceded in death by her infant twin sister; beloved
grandmother Phyllis Jeunesse and beloved grandfather Wilbur Jones.
Funeral Services will be 10am Friday September 2, 2011 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg , Kansas . Burial will follow at the
Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from
7-8pm Thursday September 1, 2011 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in
Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 12pm on Thursday. In lieu of flowers
the family asks expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to
the Salvation Army. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762. E-mail
