Obituaries
Frank Louis Saporito, 78 of Weir, Ks died at 8:42 am, Saturday, July 31,
2010 at his home.
He was born July 14, 1932 in Columbus, KS the son of Louie and
Josephine (Carpino) Saporito. He attended and graduated from the
Columbus High School.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran in the Korean War where he attained the
rank of Corporal.
On February 21, 1959 he was united in marriage to Mary R. Larson in
Scammon, KS at the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.
Frank worked for Eagle Picher Industries in the Maintenance Dept.
retiring after 32 years.
He was a member of the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Weir City
Councilman for 10 years, member of the Weir Fire Dept. for 10 years,
Secretary/Treasurer of the Fireman’s Relief Association for 10 years
and a member of the American Legion Post #272.
Survivors include his wife Mary of the Home, a daughter Susan K.
Saporito-Lopez of Weir; four sons: Gary L. Saporito and wife Cindi of
Ft. Worth, TX, Robert E. Saporito and wife Shelly of Weir, Daniel E.
Saporito and wife Deanna of Cherokee, KS and Stephen F. Saporito of
Weir; a sister Mary Jean Martin of Parsons; two brothers: Richard
Saporito of Pittsburg, KS and Tom Saporito of Columbus, KS; nine
grandchildren Nichole Saporito Unsell, Shane Darrin, Edward Saporito-
Naccarato, Kristen Saporito-Routon, Whitney Saporito, Cody Saporito,
Austin Jameson, Dustin Saporito, Dylan Saporito-Lopez and one great
grandchild Jack Unsell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John R.
Saporito.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the
St. Bridget’s Catholic Church with Fr. Chrysostom Ah Maung as
celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Weir.
Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 pm, Monday at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home in Weir. Pallbearers will be Steve Saporito as Chief-
Pallbearer, Edward Saporito-Naccarato, Dustin Saporito, Cody
Saporito, Dylan Saporito-Lopez, Austin Jameson and Shane Darrin.
Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Memorials may be
made to Class LTD, St. Bridget’s Catholic Church or St. Anthony’s
Cemetery; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Services
are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 104 W. Main
