Shirley (Sears) Purdy of Pittsburg, KS died July 26, 2011 at Freeman
Hospital in Joplin, MO.
She was born October 19, 1935 to John and May Sears in Crestline, KS.
Shirley graduated from Riverton High School in 1953. She married David
Purdy on May 9, 1964. She retired from PSU as a secretary in the
communications dept.
She is survived by her husband, David of the home; two brothers Dan
Sears of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Maurice Sears of Jackson, GA; two
sisters Sue Mishler of Tulsa, OK and Johnna Dodson of Crestline and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 9:30 am, August 1, 2011 at the Bath-Naylor
Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the
Ft. Scott National Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Sunday.
